All Night,Cold Winds Raged
2007 May 15
All night, the cold winds raged;
All night we made love.
I cut some dead branches from the past; you too
Plucked leaves of times gone by.
I emptied my pockets
Off all dried up poems;
You too took out shriveled up letters.
I threw away the stale lines
Of my palms,
You shed all moisture
From your eyelids.
Whatever we found growing
On our bodies
We chopped it
And fed it to the fire.
All night we kept the flames alive
We fuelled the fires of our bodies;
All night we heated a love
Gone cold.
